CAJO Conversations is a member-only forum where CAJO members participate in facilitated conversation on various topics which impact the lives and work of judicial officers. Designed to be a “safe space” where judicial officers can share, question, and engage, CAJO Conversation promotes introspection, reflexivity, and judicial community.

The first CAJO Conversations session took place on April 09th from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. AST. At this session, judicial officers discussed “The Continuing Relevance of the Judicial Officer”. Globally, the authority of the judiciary is under attack due to a rise in authoritarianism. Consequently, the work and role of judicial officers are seen as negatively impacted. This results not only in significant challenges for the rule of law and administration of justice, but also, existentially, the identity of the judicial officer.
